How to import and export lineups (FanDuel and DraftKings)

Use the lineup export tool to turn your contest into optimized lineups, then upload them back to the site. Use a desktop or laptop. Both sites only allow CSV upload on desktop.

Before you start

  • Do not open the CSV in Excel before uploading. Excel changes player IDs into scientific notation and the site will reject the file. If you must edit it, use a plain text editor or Google Sheets, and save as CSV.
  • Don't rename columns or delete the header rows.
  • The tool detects FanDuel or DraftKings from the file you upload.

FanDuel

  1. On FanDuel, open the contest and enter it (or reserve your entries).
  2. Click the Upcoming tab, find your slate, and select CSV Edit.
  3. Download the CSV template with your current entries.
  4. Upload that file to the lineup export tool (step 1).
  5. Pick the matching slate, review the lineups, and lock or exclude players.
  6. Download the filled CSV.
  7. Back on FanDuel's CSV Edit page, click "Upload CSV and edit entries" and choose the file.
  8. Check the lineups FanDuel shows before the slate locks.

DraftKings

  1. On DraftKings, go to Lineups, then Edit Entries. Choose your slate and click Download. The file is DKEntries.csv. If you have no entries yet, download the bulk-create template instead.
  2. Upload that file to the lineup export tool (step 1). If the file has no entry rows, choose how many lineups to build.
  3. Pick the matching slate, review the lineups, and lock or exclude players.
  4. Download the filled CSV.
  5. On DraftKings, go back to the Edit Entries screen and upload the file. For the bulk-create template, upload it from the Lineups page for your sport and slate, then enter the lineups in the Lobby.
  6. DraftKings assigns lineups to entries in the order they appear in the file. Check the confirmation count.

If the upload is rejected

  • Re-download a fresh file from the site and start over. Don't reuse an old file from a different slate.
  • Make sure the file was never opened and re-saved in Excel.
  • Make sure the slate you picked matches the contest.

Limits

  • How many lineups you can fill per export depends on your plan.
  • Classic contests for NFL, MLB and WNBA. FanDuel NFL single-game is also supported. DraftKings single-game is not yet supported.
  • Late swap: edit through the site's own lineup editor. CSV upload after games start is not covered here.
